PAST Programs

NAJAS bridges our network of societies with a dynamic group of partners and supporting organizations with whom we work to refresh our program offerings.  Among the programs that have successfully concluded is the following:

With funding from the Japan-United States Friendship Commission and the United States-Japan Foundation, NAJAS developed tis series in 2015 to highlight the role of Japanese art in the U.S.-Japan relationship. We asked curators of collections of Japanese art in U.S. museums to tell the story of the collectors, the collections and how they came to the museum. The presentations were hosted by JAS in cities other than the home museum. It was the only national program focusing on this important aspect of the U.S.-Japan cultural relationship.
